Instead of making it easier for our young people to get on the housing ladder or helping our farmers modernise their operations, Cardiff Bay is obsessing over restrictive zoning and heavy-handed tree preservation orders. This is exactly what is wrong with the political establishment, they prioritise red tape over real economic growth.

Strangling Carmarthenshire’s Economy

Here in Carmarthenshire, we rely on our agricultural sector and rural businesses to keep our local economy ticking. But these new rules will drag every minor development application into a quagmire of subordinate legislation and environmental tick-box exercises. A farmer looking to build a new shed or a local family wanting to build a home on their own land will now face months of costly delays, entirely out of touch with the reality of rural life. We need sensible, locally-led planning, not a straightjacket designed by civil servants sitting behind desks in Cardiff.

Time To Cut The Bureaucracy
