Cardiff Bay Bureaucracy Over Local Priority
The Welsh Government has announced yet another grand strategy, creating a new Climate and Nature Board to oversee a
Net Zero target by 2040. Instead of delivering practical support for rural Wales or Carmarthenshire, Ministers are expanding
administration in Cardiff Bay. Real solutions do not come from setting up committee after committee. They come from trusting
local communities, protecting food production, and putting money directly into frontline services.
Top-Down Net Zero Mandates Threaten Local Farms
For farmers and small business owners across Sir Gaerfyrddin, top-down environmental mandates bring extra cost, endless
paperwork, and mounting uncertainty. Enforcing rigid targets across agriculture and planning risks forcing local family farms
out of business. Our food producers need reduced red tape, fair prices, and direct backing, not ideological policy drives that
restrict land use and penalise hard-working families who keep our rural communities alive.
Reform UK Will Cut Waste and Support Frontline Services
Reform UK stands for common sense, accountability, and real financial support for local services. We must scrap expensive
state bureaucracy like this new oversight board and redirect every available penny into roads, local healthcare, and direct
farm support. I will keep challenging the Welsh Government in the Senedd to ensure Carmarthenshire is protected from
damaging regulations and that taxpayers get true value for their money.
