The completion of new industrial units in Llandeilo must deliver real commercial opportunities for local Carmarthenshire trades rather than serving as a tick-box exercise for Cardiff Bay’s net-zero agenda.
Reform UK Member of the Senedd for Sir Gaerfyrddin, Gareth Beer, has called on the local authority to ensure tenancy rates and operational terms are accessible to working businesses.
Gareth said: “Cardiff Bay bureaucrats must stop placing ideological restrictions on regional development and start prioritising direct support for local wealth creators across rural Carmarthenshire.
“Whilst these initiatives are on the face of it welcome. They’re generally sticking plasters for the wider malaise in the economy, often caused by the ones coming with (the temporary at best) solutions. Better, small businesses weren’t taxed, regulated and burdened in the first place.”
